Financial Aid Manager
New River Community College is a two-year state institution of higher education operating under a state-wide system of 23 community colleges, located in Virginia's New River Valley. Duties:
- Provide leadership and day-to-day management related to planning, execution, and assessment of NRCC's financial aid processes.
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure federal, state, and local regulations for financial aid programs are properly implemented.
- Manage the application process, need analysis review, awarding process, and data entry into the SIS/FA module.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and laws.
- Manage authorization and disbursement process for all financial aid accounts.
- Collaborate with the student services leadership team to develop strategies to support the mission, goals, and operations of the division.
- Coordinate financial aid disbursements and account reconciliations with the business office.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of state and federal financial aid programs.
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct comprehensive financial aid programming to meet diverse student needs.
- Strong supervisory, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience using tools such as PeopleSoft SIS, EAB Navigate, and/or Canvas.
- Ability to establish and maintain accurate financial records.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work in a demanding environment, and adhere to required timelines.
- Establish effective working relationships with students, staff, and the external public.
