Job Description
At New River Electrical Corporation, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking and analyzing project financial data, communicating trends or concerns to Project Management, and developing methods of valuing work performed. This includes working closely with both Project Coordinators and Project Management staff to ensure accurate data collection, thorough analysis, and clear presentation.
Duties/Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with Project Management to build and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
2. Execute, maintain, and submit customer billing projections, verifying accuracy and timeliness.
3. Analyze project financial data to identify trends, areas of concern, and provide solutions to project management as needed.
4. Provide weekly cost reports to project management and field supervision, highlighting key financial metrics.
5. Set up projects in the ERP system upon receipt of work authorization, ensuring seamless integration.
6. Manage bid process milestones, communicate updates to project management, and create comprehensive project bid folders.
7. Validate and approve project invoicing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
8. Participate in project conference calls to ensure project billing and schedules reflect current project status.
9. Collect, review, and enter preliminary/professional service hours into the ERP system.
10. Prepare monthly reporting of key performance indicators for customer submittal.
11. Submit and record affidavits of completion, complete project reconciliation, and provide information to the Billing Department for accurate account receivables.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in a related position; construction or project/finance controls preferred.
- Experience in construction or utility industry is a plus.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including internal staff and external professionals.
- Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving, strong decision-making capability.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of programs such as Smartsheet, Vista, PowerBI, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Adobe.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize day-to-day activities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deliver results within fixed timeframes.
