Job Description
New River Valley Community Services is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist to work with adolescents! As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you will work with adolescents who are currently enrolled or enrolling in recovery services and will assist with obtaining recovery services an / or resources. This role would engage with adolescents to provide peer support and develop / review a wellness / recovery plan per client to advocate for their needs throughout their wellness / recovery journey. The job duties would include work in the Juvenile Detention Center at least one day per week.
Starting Hourly Rate : $16.26-Depending on Experience
Education Requirements :
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate's Degree or higher is preferred.
- Must have a mental health or substance use disorder that has impacted your life for two years or more, and must identify a year in recovery.
- Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist or demonstrated work toward.
Additional compensation will be considered for any new employees who speak multiple languages
