Overview
The New River YMCA is seeking dedicated and qualified Child Care Teachers to join our early learning team. This role is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for early childhood education and demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and a commitment to fostering the growth and development of each child.

Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that align with the YMCA’s curriculum and educational standards.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by following established health, safety, and supervision protocols.
- Establish and maintain open and professional communication with families, providing updates on children’s progress and development.
- Collaborate effectively with co-teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and developmental assessments.
- Uphold all YMCA policies and state licensing regulations to ensure compliance with childcare standards.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Experience: Prior experience working in an early childhood education setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, actively engage with children, and maintain energy throughout the workday.
