Purpose of role
Maintenance Technician is required to perform all functions of production equipment maintenance. Primarily responsible for preventive and predictive maintenance, as well as troubleshoot, repair, and improve the processes related to the mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. The Maintenance Tech will interface with Engineers, Production Leads, Operations Manager, Quality Team, and the Assembly Techs to provide operations support across the Production Final Assembly areas.
Major Duties / Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Performing maintenance tasks at designated intervals for the maintenance of production equipment. This would involve the use of small hand tools and electrical/mechanical devices involved in analytical troubleshooting.
- Repairs: Performing repair of damaged or faulting equipment. This could include the replacement/rebuild of machine components in order to bring them up to desired operation while minimizing downtime.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluation of chronic machine problems using historical data and prevention methods. Working with other departments in a cross-functional capacity to determine countermeasures in order to avoid repeat downtime issues.
Minimum Knowledge, Experience & Education
- Two-year Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or two years on the job training in an industrial manufacturing facility. Consider in-house job experience and accomplishments (machine troubleshooting, data analysis, problem solving involvement) for internal candidate.
- Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment. This would involve working with multimeters to troubleshoot electrical component failures, working with industrial controls, pneumatic systems, familiar with preventive maintenance tasks and methods.
Preferred Knowledge, Experience & Education
- 1 year experience with automation, troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical components at machine level.
- Windows based programs (Excel, Outlook, Word) knowledge. Use of multimeter, hand tools. Familiar with Lockout Tagout process and Safe Work practice.
