Position Summary:
The Donor Prospecting and Data Manager position plays a crucial role in supporting The Help Group's fundraising efforts by identifying, researching, and qualifying prospective donors, while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of donor data within Salesforce. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, as accurate data and thorough research are paramount to identifying and cultivating new donors.
This position will work closely with the CEO and Vice President of External Affairs to prioritize current and potential donors for cultivation and solicitation strategies. Additionally, this role will be responsible for creating and implementing an end-of-year employee giving matching campaign, including identifying and recruiting companies to participate and promote The Help Group in their year-end giving programs. This role will also acknowledge donor gifts, manage grant reporting, and contribute to the development of new revenue streams. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual with a passion for our mission and strong analytical and research skills.
Responsibilities:
Prospect Research and Identification:
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to identify new individual, foundation, and corporate donor prospects, with a strong focus on expanding The Help Group's donor base. This includes:
- Working with schools and programs within The Help Group to identify potential donors among parents, alumni families, and community members.
- Cultivating relationships with school administrators and staff to leverage their knowledge and networks.
- Conduct thorough research on potential donors, including wealth screening, philanthropic interests, and giving capacity.
- Utilize online databases, public records, and other resources to gather relevant information.
- Analyze prospect data to prioritize and segment potential donors based on factors such as:
- Giving capacity and history
- Alignment with The Help Group's mission and programs
- Engagement level with the organization
- Connections to current donors or board members
- Collaborate with the CEO and Vice President of External Affairs to qualify prospects and develop cultivation strategies.
- Develop and maintain a prospect tracking system to monitor progress and ensure effective follow-up.
Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in Salesforce, ensuring meticulous attention to detail to preserve data integrity.
- Oversee data entry and ensure data quality.
- Manage data migration from existing systems to Salesforce (if applicable).
- Generate reports and analyze data to track progress and identify trends.
- Develop and implement data management procedures and protocols.
Donor Relations:
- Prepare and send timely and personalized donor acknowledgments for all gifts.
- Assist with donor stewardship activities, including communications and reporting.
Grant Management:
- Track grant deadlines and deliverables.
- Prepare accurate and timely grant reports.
Revenue Development:
- Create and implement an end-of-year employee giving matching campaign.
- Identify and recruit companies to include The Help Group in their employee giving programs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new revenue streams.
- Research and analyze potential funding opportunities.
- Assist with the development of fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in prospect research and/or data management, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Proficiency in Salesforce or a similar CRM system.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills with a proven ability to identify new donor prospects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This salary range represents the low and high end of the salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of The Help Group. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, professional and academic experience, certification, training, responsibilities of the position, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.
