The Help Group is currently seeking a Staff Accountant who is detail-oriented, highly motivated and someone who wants to work for the largest, most innovative, and comprehensive nonprofit of its kind!
Position Details:
- Full-Time and Part-Time
- Location: Sherman Oaks, Ca
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account schedules with analysis.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Review weekly Accounts Payable batches.
- Assist in preparation of annual agency audit schedules.
- Monitor recurring monthly journal entries.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns.
- Review the work of the accounting team as needed.
- Mentor and train junior accountants and staff.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Non-profit experience preferred
