Originally established to revitalize abandoned buildings into affordable housing, New Settlement has since evolved into a multi-generational, forward-looking organization. We support 15,000 members of the community annually by providing organizing in housing and schools, and programs in education, college access, youth development, arts, workforce development, wellness, and more. JOB SUMMARY: The Outreach Manager will be under direct supervision of the Community School Program Director. The Outreach Manager will be responsible for providing confidential administrative support to school staff as necessary. The outreach Manager will prepare correspondences, reports, and conduct family, student and community outreach.

Job Duties include but not limited to:

  • Supports and enhances a culture that respects and honors diversity, invests in professional development and encourages self-care.
  • Work alongside with community school staff members and school community. Assists program activities:  greet visitors, answer phone calls, receive messages for/from program staff and business matters in a professional manner
    • Use Google and Microsoft related apps to create program rosters to prepare for registration, outreach, etc.

Marketing

  • Assist in outreach and marketing planning for events and other activities
  • Generate graphics and assist with content management, email, and Designs
  • Assist with the production and distribution of printed materials, such as brochures, posters, and flyers
  • Assist with planning and execution of school related events

General Administrative

  • Attend and support with related events at Claremont International High School or New Settlement community as needed (registration, ticketing, social media engagement, and setup/breakdown for events)
  •  Provide general administrative including taking minutes at meetings, file management, inventory and presentations as needed
  • Contact students and families to inform them of school related events
  • Support students with applications for work based learning initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bilingual preferred
  • High School Diploma (Associates Degree Preferred)
  • Two years of related work experience in Marketing, Education, Youth Development
  • Excellent communication, customer service, project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Proficient website and email management (CMS, EMS)
  • Proficient with social media business account management (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Experience with graphic design preferred (Canva, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Experience with Salesforce or MindBody as preferred (CRM)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be cleared and maintain clearance throughout duration of employment by NYS DOH and DOE fingerprinting screening, NYS Central Registrar Background Check, 3 Reference checks, Staff Exclusion List (SEL), and must provide a physical examination with updated TB test.

Employment is at will and employees will undergo 30-, 60- and 90-day check-ins during their 90-day probationary period.
