Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Perform coding for medical procedures and diagnoses to ensure accurate billing and record-keeping.
- Maintain patient records, including medical history, vital signs, and treatment plans, while adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling insurance documentation.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively in communication with staff and patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within a Level I or Level II Trauma Center to provide comprehensive care.
- Support dermatology services by preparing patients for examinations and assisting with minor procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is preferred.
- Proficiency in basic life support (BLS) techniques is required.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, coding practices, and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Experience working in a hospital setting or trauma center is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
