Assistant Teacher

Job Summary
New Song Academy is seeking a dependable and nurturing Assistant Teacher to join our growing early childhood education team in Mountlake Terrace. We are a faith-based learning center committed to the academic, emotional, social, and spiritual development of every child.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about early learning, value teamwork, and are eager to support children in a warm, structured environment.
Responsibilities
• Support the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily curriculum
• Supervise and engage children during instructional time, play, meals, and transitions
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
• Assist with behavior guidance and classroom management
• Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous experience working with young children preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to follow direction and take initiative when needed
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must pass a background check and meet state licensing requirements
• Alignment with the mission and values of a Christian early education environment
