Personal Care Assistant
Client information:
chair bound, needs assistance with all ADLs and IADLs including incontinence care and repositioning. Hoyer Lift training needed for this position.
Shift:
Monday-Friday 10am-5pm
Duties:
- Provide assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
-incontinence care
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including using assistive devices and techniques
- Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management
- Monitor and report changes in client's physical and mental condition
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary needs are met
- Provide companionship and engage in social activities with clients
- Support clients with cognitive impairments, including dementia care
- Implement behavior management strategies as directed by healthcare professionals
Experience:
- Previous experience in personal care or related field preferred
- Familiarity with assisted living or home care settings
- Knowledge of senior care principles and practices
- Understanding of dementia care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Ability to lift and assist clients with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
