Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in caregiving, with experience in personal care homes, nursing homes, or long-term care settings. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by promoting independence and dignity.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Help with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
- Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs, including driving to appointments or social activities.
- Monitor and document client health status and report any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Support clients in engaging with their community through social activities and outings.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
Skills
- Experience in caregiving or personal care home settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and basic health monitoring techniques is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Ability to drive and transport clients safely as needed.
- Familiarity with social work principles and home community care practices is a plus.
