Join New Story Schools In-District Services (IDS) as we partner with local school districts to enhance special education by providing BCBAs, Teachers, RBTs, and Paraprofessionals for their classrooms. What we offer:
- Role: This will be a part-time position working approximately 25 hours per week in the school with the possibility of full-time work.
- Compensation: Offering approx $35/hr for a MSW and approx $45/hr for a LSW/LCSW based on experience and background.

Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies to coordinate resources and support for students and their families.
- Overseeing and working alongside students with attendance barriers and helping to establish a positive relationship between the school and the students.
- Develop student attendance improvement plans and help the district develop a school-wide attendance intervention program.
- Facilitates interagency communication with community-based mental health providers.
- Participates in IEP meetings, student team meetings, program meetings, SAIP Meetings, etc.
- Consults with school team on barriers to success (e.g., attendance, homelessness, abuse or neglect).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support school-wide positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS).
- Participate in school and district-wide initiatives focused on student well-being and mental health promotion.
- Evaluates service effectiveness for individual students, groups, SEL classes, and overall program.
- Support designated classroom students, classroom staff and teachers to implement strategies for student progress with the goal of student progress and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Pennsylvania Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a school setting, preferably with special education populations.
- Experience with trauma-informed care and mental health interventions.
- Valid Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances.
- Demonstrated understanding of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development and implementation.
- Understanding and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and needs of students and families.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in counseling and education.
Preferred/Nice to have:
- Previous experience working in a school setting, ideally as an LCSW, LSW or MSW.
- Proven ability to effectively manage crises and implement de-escalation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting students, especially those with special needs.
