Join New Story Schools In-District Services (IDS) as we partner with local school districts to enhance special education by providing BCBAs, Teachers, RBTs, Paraprofessionals and other professionals for their classrooms. Your Role as a Special Education Paraprofessional:
- Assist with the implementation of the students Individualized Education (IEP).
- Implement appropriate behavior management strategies and techniques.
- Observe/Record data related to behavioral concerns to assess/monitor the progress of the student.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to support clients' behavioral and developmental needs.
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your expertise in behavior management and techniques.
- Assist students within the classroom/program setting during participation in special subjects such as Physical Education, Vocational programs, and Field trips.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Genuine passion for working with children, demonstrating patience and compassion.
Preferred (Nice to Have) Qualifications:
- An associate's degree or higher or completed at least two years of postsecondary study; or successful completion of a state or locally developed assessment.
- Experience working with children with special needs or autism through volunteer work, employment, or other relevant experiences.
