As a Mental Health Technician at New Story Schools, you will play a vital role in supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges. This position is essential in fostering a safe and nurturing environment that promotes academic success and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of individualized behavior support plans for students.
- Provide direct care and support to students experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties.
- Monitor student behavior and report any significant changes to the appropriate staff.
- Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate records of medication administration.
- Conduct regular assessments of student needs and progress in collaboration with the educational team.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of student information.
- Engage students in therapeutic activities that promote social skills development.
Requirements
- Experience in patient care or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is required.
- Knowledge of special education practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is essential.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
