To be considered for this position the BCaBA has to be available from June 2025-January 2026 to assist with an anticipated maternity leave. This is also an in-person position. Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) Job Description

Job Description: Board Certified assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBAs) oversee Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in home, community, and clinic settings in conjunction with the Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). Under the direction and supervision of a BCBA, the BCaBA will conduct various descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments (e.g., functional analyses) and skill-based assessments (e.g., ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP, AFLS, etc.). The BCaBA will collaborate with the BCBA to provide behavior analytic interpretations of the results to design comprehensive ABA treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and behavior analytic research literature. The BCaBA will provide training and supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians, Licensed Behavior Analyst Interventionists, and other responsible parties tasked with the implementation of behavior analytic interventions. Under the supervision of the BCBA, the BCaBA supervises and monitors treatment progress of a client through data-based progress monitoring. The BCaBA also provides training to parents/guardians and other responsible parties for the client as requested by the BCBA.

Supervision Over: Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), Registered Behavior Analysis Interventionists (RBAIs), Behavior Technicians, and direct care staff

Qualifications:

  • Possessing a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or national equivalent. A major in psychology, special education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field of study is preferred.
  • Have obtained certification as a Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) as verified through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in working with children, adolescents, and/or adults with various support needs.
  • Active Oregon Licensed Assistant Behavior Analyst licensure strongly preferred
  • Appropriate behavioral intervention strategies
  • Learning theories and instructional methods
  • Ethics, laws, and regulations of acceptable behavior interventions
  • Developmental processes of children, adolescents, and adults
  • Interpersonal skills needed to manage crisis situations
  • Technology, such as Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, and ABA software platforms
  • Correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling

Skills Required

  • Assess situations and make proper judgments
  • Understand behavioral situations and react accordingly in an ethical manner
  • Objectively analyze crisis situations
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations
  • Handle aggressive and self-injurious behaviors of clients
  • Communicate effectively and make recommendations to various agency staff and outside professionals, groups, or individuals
  • Perform general clerical duties including maintain accurate client records and preparing clear and concise reports
  • Communicate effectively in both oral and written form with a diverse group of clients, parents/caregivers, school personnel, and other agency staff
  • Use a computer and behavioral software to prepare documents and maintain client records
  • Work independently and make decisions within the framework of established guidelines
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Follow guidance from senior level staff to enhance own professional development
  • Work with a diverse team of professionals in a respectful manner
  • Supervise clients during treatment sessions at the requested percentage of each BCBA

Other Requirements

  • Successful completion of fingerprinting and criminal history background check
  • Satisfactory reference checks
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time as well as kneeling, bending and stooping.
  • 5% supervision first 2 years and then 2% supervision from BCBAs

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct behavioral services to clients in individual and group sessions
  • Provide coverage for client session when other options are not available
  • Oversee ABA programs and provide parent training and support as directed by the BCBA
  • Complete weekly program writing and maintain client’s program book (including writing programs and creating materials)
  • Running monthly clinic/progress meetings with parents/guardians as requested
  • Under the direction of the BCBA, conduct behavioral and skills assessments and design treatment programs for clients
  • Work with and oversee Registered Behavior Technicians and/or Registered Behavior Analyst Interventionists to implement individualized treatment plans as per agency standards and BACB requirements
  • Collect data and graph data as instructed using technological programs, such as Microsoft Excel or behavioral software (e.g., CentralReach)
  • Maintain respect and confidentiality for all clients
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies
  • Maintain and protect the well-being of all clients during treatment sessions and when emergency crisis situations arise
  • Knowledge of medical billing for ABA and navigating insurance is preferred
  • Be able to work with a diverse team of professionals to provide the best behavioral services possible to clients
  • Assist with onboarding of new clients by assisting with intakes, treatment plan development, and providing initial sessions and/or family guidance until Behavior Technicians are assigned to the team
  • Meet monthly billable requirements assessed on a quarterly basis
  • Other job duties as assigned by BCBAs, the Clinical Director, and Executive Director(s)

Salary/Hourly Rate: Commensurate with experience.
