We are seeking a highly skilled Property Underwriter to join our team at New Sweden Mutual Insurance Company.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Underwrite new business requests and applications to determine risk acceptability and policy terms.
- Review and process renewals, endorsements, and cancellations.
- Provide underwriting advice and answer inquiries from agents.
- Visit agencies to communicate underwriting approaches and facilitate public relations efforts.
Qualifications:
- Licence in Property and Casualty Insurance from the Minnesota Department of Commerce or ability to acquire this licence upon starting the underwriting position.
- Previous property and casualty experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of policy wordings and rating guidelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.
- Strong computer skills.
