New Terrain Grading is seeking an Equipment Operator. This position is responsible for driving and operating equipment such as skid steer, mini excavator, compaction equipment, dozers and excavators, and off-road trucks
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Understand risks and safety hazards.
- Understands general soil conditions, types, and Characteristics.
- Understands safety manual and OSHA requirements.
- Can read and fully understand civil drawings, phases of work, specifications, and CEPSI Reports.
- Fully understand erosion and storm water control and best general practices.
- Participate in daily job safety hazard meetings and constantly identify and prevent safety hazards.
- Understands and can Perform daily preventative maintenance checklists.
- Cleans trash and dirt from equipment daily inside cab and on exterior including tracks.
- Can read and understand survey grade stakes.
- Can maintain, and safely and efficiently operate with no oversite the following specific equipment at a minimum
- Skid steers for fine grading, forks usage for loading and unloading
- Mini Excavators for erosion control, trenching, and Find Grading
- Compaction Equipment for meeting specified compaction requirement
- Offroad Trucks for haul off or moving material on site
- Dozer: Has ability to rough grade and push mass dirt. General Knowledge of operation of GPS Systems
- Excavator: Can Load trucks and excavate to rough Grade
- Ability to run heavy equipment (dozer, track hoe, skid steer, and mini excavator)
- Ability to perform rough grading, fine grading and backfill of various items
- OSHA 10 Preferred, but Not Required. We are willing to provide training if needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to read and scale construction drawings
- Must possess the ability to think critically and problem solve
- Ability to work individually or in teams
