REPORTS TO: Driver Pusher
TYPE: Full-Time; Non-Exempt
POSITION PURPOSE:
This position drives a commercial vehicle with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport fluids to and from specified destinations by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION - Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to this position.
2. Must be able to work in a team environment, working effectively with co-workers, supervisors and vendors.
3. Determines vehicle condition by conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections and identifying worn and damaged parts; submits Daily Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) showing items needing repair; maintains driver e-logs per state and federal requirements.
4. Uses safety devices and PPE at all times.
5. Maintains telephone contact with dispatch or supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
6. Drives truck to destination as instructed; positions the vehicle as near as practical to the tank battery and the assigned tank, without backing, unless absolutely necessary; ensures that the tank battery location and name are the same as those assigned.
7. Once positioned at the correct location, engages PTO on truck and ensures the pump is correctly engaged for loading water; selects the correct hose diameter and length and removes it from the trailer; connects hoses and opens appropriate valves to load fluids.
8. When loading is complete, closes the tank valve and removes the hose; ensures complete drainage of the liquid into the trailer; closes valves and places hoses onto the trailer; gauges and Kolor Kuts the tank; completes paperwork with the correct amount of water loaded and leaves a copy for the pumper prior to leaving the site.
9. Follows standard operating procedure guidelines, written or oral, to promote safety and work procedures.
10. Works varying shifts, weekends and holidays as workload and scheduling requires; works extended hours outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
11. Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement plus at least 1 year of driving experience. Acceptable MVR required. Must have a medical card or the ability to obtain one.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces and rough terrain; incumbents may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
