Title: Speech and Language Pathologist - Part-Time
Assignment: School-year, 0.5 FTE
Location: Winnetka Campus and/or Northfield Campus

Supervisor: Director of Special Education; Assistant Superintendent for Special Education and Student Services
Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License endorsed for Speech-Language Pathology for teaching or non-teaching.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Exemplary inter-personal skills to collaborate with parents and a large professional and support staff.
General Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to identified students with speech and language delays and disorders ranging from comprehensive needs to language-based learning disabilities.
- Remediate speech language deficits of phonology, morphology, semantics, syntax, pragmatics, voice and fluency in a variety of settings.
- Serve as a member of multi-disciplinary teams in student assessment, IEP development, placement, and dismissal as per the Illinois State of Board of Education (ISBE) guidelines.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to share information and expertise.
- Conduct all IEP-related processes on behalf of assigned students, including annual review, evaluation, and progress reporting within required timelines. Occasionally serve as the case manager for “speech-only” students, including facilitating annual IEP reviews, collaborating with teachers, and ensuring compliance with IEP goals and services
- Administer diagnostic assessments that include:
- review of student's academic and functional performance, and
- evaluation of the student's speech-language skills, progress, and needs.
- Interpret assessment results including evaluations from private speech-language pathologists, educational diagnosticians, and neuropsychologists.
- Provide consultation and professional development to students’ educational teams.
- Comprehend adolescent social and cognitive development. Background in Social Thinking Methodology is preferred.
- Collaborate with AT coach and educational team to utilizeassistive technology for student growth.
- Contribute to the articulation process of incoming 9th graders, including IEP development.
- Pursue meaningful continuing education and maintain ASHA CCCs and IL License.
