ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Squash Instructor provides individual and group squash lessons and keeps customer service at its highest level for all members and guests. The Squash Instructor is also responsible for the general upkeep of the courts and assists in reinforcing court usage policies.
- Continuously modeling and promoting the NYSC and our family of brands mission, mission statement, and values with pride and integrity.
- Providing a legendary member experience.
- Reviewing and adhering to all NYSC and our family of brands documents including but not limited to policies and procedures, employee handbook, state supplement, codes of conduct, etc.
- Leading by example, maintaining a positive attitude and fun atmosphere while overseeing students.
- Instructing both private and group squash lessons.
- Observing and analyzing competitive matches.
- Responding to member inquiries in a timely manner.
- Keeping accurate records and schedules.
- Assisting with the maintenance of the squash facility and court.
- Assisting the General Manager on ways to optimize squash revenue and profitability.
- Embracing the development of student’s goals.
- Sharing knowledge amongst other squash instructors.
- Understanding the local community needs.
- Striving to beat company and personal revenue goals.
- Additional duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
- At least 1 year of teaching squash skills.
- Child & Adult AED/CPR certified.
- Ability to demonstrate every squash technique.
- Know squash single and doubles rules.
- Understands the appropriate squash etiquette.
- An overall positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch reach for an extended period of time.
- Ability to bend at the waist and perform repetitive foot and hand actions.
- Ability to proficiently use our POS and membership system, timekeeping and any other computer programs required to meet the business needs of the customer.
- Physical demands include ability to lift up to 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations, walk through all areas of the club, climbing stairs (where applicable), and bending and lifting (e.g., picking up towels, restacking weights, moving equipment as needed). The company reserves the right to change them as business needs require and that jobs may require other tasks as assigned to the employees by the company.
