Evening Cleaner/Custodian – Full time, Year-round position

Position description:
Provide building cleaning, operation maintenance, and support activities in a school.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Participates in all building cleaning activities listed under cleaning schedules and procedures such as mop, sweep, or clean all floors, vacuum and shampoos carpets; dust all cabinets, desks, and building surfaces; clean all glass partitions and windows; scrub, strip, wax, and buff floors; spot clean spills/stains on floors or surfaces; remove vandalism marks from building or equipment; clean, sanitize, and polish all washroom fixtures; fill all dispensers, gather and dispose of refuse.
- May conduct ground maintenance including landscaping, snow removal, painting, raking, or other similar tasks.
- Consult with the Lead Custodian regarding unusual maintenance problems and make recommendations concerning the purchase of supplies, material, and equipment.
- Checks to ensure that buildings are heated, cleaned, locked, and unlocked in readiness for all activities, sporting events, concerts, meetings, or special events.
- Keeps simple activity records.
- Perform other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
Position Requirements:

- Ability to follow directions with attention to detail
- Endurance to walk/stand for majority of shift
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Days/Hours:
Hours will be 3:00 P.M. to 11:30 P.M. on School Days
Dayshift on non-school days and summer
Salary/Wage:
Dependent on experience; Starting wage $18.00/hour; Custodial Union Classification B21
