Responsibilities of the Assistant Cook:Plan, organize, prepare or ensure proper preparation of all food according to standardized recipes under supervision of FSD.Ensure quality of prepared food including taste and temperature.Know and ensure adherence to all DSS and DOH guidelines with regard to proper food handling, storage, utilization of leftovers, and acceptable service and storage temperatures.Ensure proper food portion control, presentation, and alternatives.Participation in planning and organization of menus.Ensure that stock levels of food supplies and equipment are maintained at appropriate levels.Requirements of the Assistant Cook:High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.Minimum of one (1) year related experience in preparing foods in large quantities.Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity.Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.
