Summary
NVRC is seeking a diligent and strategic Financial Analyst. This individual will create compliant, informative reports on contract labor hours, collaborate with government personnel to develop financial forecasts, and track data as requested at varying levels of size and complexity. The Financial Analyst will play a key role in ensuring accurate data and reports are used to optimize operational performance and improve financial efficiency. The successful candidate will have proven hands-on experience as a financial analyst providing support for technically focused projects, ideally within the Navy ERP and Navy Working Capital Fund environments.
Tasks and Duties
Providing government financial analysis and forecasting, calculating labor cost estimates and plans, developing reports and other documentation, ensuring all reports and deliverables meet government regulatory standards and expectations in scope and format, and continually updating financial analytics as elements change throughout the period of performance.
Job Purpose
To provide comprehensive financial analysis and support, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS), optimizing resource allocation, and delivering accurate and timely financial reporting to key personnel and external agencies. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop budgets, track performance, analyze variances, and provide insightful recommendations to support sound business decisions and successful contract execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzes business and financial data.
- Creates financial models based on analyses to support organizational decision making.
- Develops financial plans and reports for organizational leaders.
- Analyzes industry trends and makes recommendations based on those trends.
- Evaluates capital expenditures and depreciation.
- Develops automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
- Advanced MS Excel proficiency, with the ability to leverage its features and functions to solve complex data challenges
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Security Clearance
- Experience with government contracting financial analytics
- Experience supporting technical and engineering projects for DoD
- Experience with Navy ERP and/or Navy Working Capital Fund
Required Education and Length of Experience
- 2 years of related experience, with a Bachelor’s degree
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel, up to 10%, may be required for this role.
U.S. Citizenship Requirements
Due to our contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens.
Clearance Type Required
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
