What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner-MAT position at New Visions Unlimited, Inc.?
New Visions Unlimited, Inc. is looking to add a part-time (contract), psychiatric nurse practitioner with addiction experience, to our team! 10-20 hours per week.
New Visions Unlimited, Inc., is certified by OHMHAS and accredited by The Joint Commission. For 25 years, we have been a family-owned and operated organization, offering in-office addiction and mental health services. In recent years, we have expanded to include telehealth services, providing a hybrid approach to support individuals in recovery across Northeast Ohio.
You will work with a care team to provide psychiatric and addiction medical services to clients that participate in our OP, IOP, PHP, and mental health services.
Duties include:
- Conducting and interpreting mental health assessments.
- Performing and giving psychotherapy for the treatment of conditions.
- Treating 30 or fewer clients with buprenorphine medications (injectable and oral).
- Prescribing naltrexone to clients with alcohol use disorder (AUD).
- Treating clients that are dually diagnosed with mild to moderate mental health diagnoses with appropriate prescribed medications.
- Performing exams and checkups.
- Providing ongoing consultation and management for assigned patients as necessary in accordance with accepted standards of psychiatric practice.
- Utilizing the EHR system to timely and accurately fulfill all administrative duties pertaining to performance of direct care. Which include completing progress notes, ordering prescriptions, viewing drug screen results, and other required documentation.
- Referring clients to other needed services within the agency and outside of the agency.
- Attend weekly staff meetings to discuss clients.
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures.
- Maintain all aspects of HIPPA and CFR 42 part 2.
The NP will work alongside our clinical director and counselors to diagnose substance use disorders as well as co-occurring psychiatric disorders, initiate medications-for-addiction treatment when appropriate, and treat co-occurring psychiatric disorders. For this role, we are looking for:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong working knowledge of diagnostic techniques and medications used to assist with mental health and addiction treatment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate within ethical and professional standards of care.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team to meet patients’ needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Preferred if candidates are credentialed with local insurance panels but it is not necessary.
- Candidates with a collaborating provider agreement in place.
Requirements:
- Must have prescriptive authority with a valid DEA Registration
- Must have at least two years of relevant professional experience
- Must be certified and able to provide First Aid and CPR
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- Board Certified in Psychiatric Mental Health
- Current unencumbered License
- Unrestricted DEA and State Controlled Substances registration

Pay: $70.00 - $100.00 per hour
