Security Officer
Location: Hazelwood ICF, 1800 Old Bluegrass AVE, Louisville, KY 40215-1168
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to meet criminal background and drug screening standards
- Must be a minimum 23 years of age
- Must have a valid Driver's License
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Rotating Schedule 37.5 hours per week; must be able to flex hours to meet facility needs, work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis and overtime as needed. Uniform Cap, Shirt, and Jacket will be provided. The employee must provide own black dress pants, black belt and black shoes. All employee clothing must be neat and professional in appearance.
Essential Functions
- Security provides around the clock safety enforcement. Patrols premises to maintain order enforce facility policies and procedures.
- Responds to vehicle accidents and all codes when called upon.
- Enforces all rules and regulations of the facility, maintaining complete and accurate records and logs of all activities.
- Presents a positive public image while treating customers, the public and staff with courtesy, respect and dignity.
- Attends all necessary training and in-services.
- Monitors the ingress and egress of people and vehicles into and out of the facility with specific duties as follows: issues visitor passes, controls the security information center, limits access by unauthorized persons, directs all visitors and deliveries coming on the facility grounds to the proper destination, escorts all emergency vehicles to appropriate area.
- Maintains log of shift activities.
- Establishes a high sense of security presence throughout the facility by diligent patrol methods.
- Responds to all calls on the facility grounds when security assistance is needed with residents, employees, or visitors.
- Responds to various crisis situations, which include but are not limited to; crimes, natural disasters, sudden deaths, fires, or when a person’s whereabouts are unknown.
- Enforces all traffic regulations based on policy.
- Ensures all outside doors on campus are locked.
- Learn and follow all policies and procedures.
- Any other assignments deemed necessary for the daily operations of the program.
