Wastewater Treatment Operator Apprentice
Are you excited to learn and be a part of one of Wisconsin’s most advanced wastewater treatment facilities? NEW Water, the brand of the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District, is looking for an Operator Apprentice who is eager to learn and develop skills to assist with the operation of all NEW Water treatment processes.
This role is a 3-year limited term, State of Wisconsin approved apprenticeship program with coursework administered through Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. The Operator Apprentice will be able to learn all of the skills as a wastewater treatment operator and on the job experience would be provided at both treatment facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced Operators working to complete hands-on, classroom, and active demonstrations on all wastewater processes. This position will prepare the candidates for potential advancement at NEW Water. If positions are not available at NEW Water, the organization will work with the employee to explore other industry related opportunities.

Details about the Position:
The Operator Apprentice will train, review and complete knowledge-based measurement assessments during the training program. The primary role of this position is to build the abilities, know-how, and experience needed to support the functioning of all NEW Water treatment operations. This position will assist experienced Operators in coordination with other departments to troubleshoot process problems as needed. They will learn and understand plan process design and system functionality, develop skills needed to assist in the analysis of plant operations, and support data collection efforts in order to prepare reports for use by NEW Water management and external consultants on the performance of processes and equipment.

Qualifications:
- High School Education or equivalent
- The commitment to successfully complete a multi-year apprenticeship program which involves classroom instruction and on-the-job training at a documented proficiency level.
Compensation: (*not including shift differential, overtime, or other premium pay)
- Operator Apprentice Hiring Wage Range: $23.68-$27.02 per hour
