The Buyer I is responsible for supporting purchasing activities by sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely procurement of goods and services to meet company needs. This entry-level role requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Evaluate and respond to procurement needs based on ERP system-generated recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, including requesting quotes, placing orders, and tracking deliveries.
- Research, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability.
- Monitor supplier performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with internal teams to balance cost-efficiency with production and operational needs.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments to determine purchasing needs.
- Process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including pricing, supplier agreements, and delivery schedules.
- Assist with cycle counting and full physical inventory as needed.
- Collaborate with the finance department to resolve invoicing and payment discrepancies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Experience in manufacturing, or distribution industries.
- Knowledge of supply chain best practices and procurement process.
- Familiarity with contract negotiation and vendor management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP or procurement software is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds.
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds over the head
- Must have finger and wrist dexterity with repetitive motion

Salary : $55,400 - $79,800
