Job Summary:
This position is responsible for conducting general maintenance inspections, repairs and improvements to equipment, tools, and facilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Repair and/or coordinate the repair and improvement of equipment and facility.
- Fix unsafe structures and equipment.
- Study the building, equipment, and procedures in the plant and point out safety hazards.
- Make equipment and building alterations and provide training as directed by the Safety Manger to assure that the company is meeting governmental safety requirements.
- Complete tasks in a timely manner to minimize safety hazards and maximize production’s efficiency.
- Work with other maintenance personnel to maintain a current listing of outstanding projects in an alphabetically prioritized fashion.
- Conduct routine maintenance of company vehicles.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with the Maintenance Manager that will affect aspects of production.
- Maintain open communication with other maintenance personnel.
- Other duties as deemed necessary and requested by the Maintenance Manager.
- Knowledge of the mechanics of equipment and facility structure.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring.
- Familiarity with manufacturing machines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to interface with all levels of individuals within and outside the company.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents.
- Ability to analyze and solve electrical problems.
- Ability to operate various shop tools including power and manually operated wrenches.
- Trained in forklift operation.
- Minimum of 1 year preferred in manufacturing facility maintenance or electrical.
- Mechanically inclined
- Read and understand technical documents.
- Understand electrical wiring, mechanics, and facility structure.
- Good communication with all individuals inside and outside the company.
- Arc Flash and OSHA 10 training or will need to be completed once hired.
- Physical ability to climb, crawl and to work in awkward positions such as kneeling, bending, stooping and overhead positions.
- Prolonged periods on the factory floor.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times, preferably with assistance.
