What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Dance Teacher position at New West Charter School?
We are looking to hire a passionate Dance Teacher to join the New West Charter School family. You will be responsible for teaching and training a dynamic group of students in a range of techniques and dance styles. You must ensure that all students are engaged, motivated, and inspired to achieve their goals as a dancer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate dance instruction in all pertinent dance styles such as jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, and lyrical dance; in person and/or online.
- Develop dance curriculum and prepare daily lesson plans for students in grades 9-12
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with a diverse group of teachers, parents, and students
- Evaluate student performance and make recommendations for improvement
- Choreograph routines for on-campus performances and for Fall and Spring concerts
- Provide a fun, creative, and safe learning environment for all students
- Responsible for fundraising efforts for costumes, competitions, and field-trips
- Follow all New West Policies and Procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in subject area or related field
- Teaching credential is preferred; will consider applicants currently enrolled in a Credential program
- CLAD Certification
- Previous teaching experience at the high school level (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of Google apps such as Classroom, Slide, Docs, etc.
- Demonstrated leadership skills
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $45,000.00 - $96,169.00 per year
