The Payroll Specialist is a mission critical role within our HR team, ensuring all payrolls of our team members and entity companies are timely and accurate.
This role is more than running a report and hitting "send" - it's about collaborating with stakeholders, creating efficient processes, and optimizing our newly implemented HRIS. This role is a great fit for those who have experience juggling multiple payroll schedules, entities, business units, and / or worker types, and who are passionate about making an impact in a fast growing and complex organization.
As the Payroll Specialist, You will be responsible for :
- Auditing and processing W-2 and 1099 payroll, commissions, and bonuses.
- Auditing and managing payroll deductions, tax withholdings and wage garnishments.
- Ensuring payroll compliance with all applicable laws, including tax regulations, wage laws, and company policies state registrations and taxes.
- Overseeing the timekeeping process for non-exempt employees and monitoring systems for consistency and accuracy.
- Preparing and filing required federal, state, and local payroll tax filings, such as 941s, state unemployment insurance, and workers compensation reports.
- Calculating pay changes and pay amounts as needed throughout the employee life cycle, such as leaves of absence, sick time, and final paychecks Assisting with audits and providing documentation as needed for tax filings or internal audits.
- Providing support in resolving discrepancies or issues related to pay, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
- Reviewing benefits premium invoices for accuracy.
- Managing employment verifications Remaining up to date with changes in federal, state, and local payroll and tax laws and regulations.
