JOB TITLE: Business Development Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Ticketing REPORTING TO: Director, Memberships and Groups
LOCATION: New York, NY
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Business Development Coordinator is a full-time position that will be responsible for generating revenue and supporting the ticketing team for the sales and retention of full season, partial season and group ticket plans. This will be done through a multi-faceted approach focused on sales support and outreach, lead generation and administrative support to generate new business opportunities. This role will additionally help support and lead special projects and objectives, as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Generate new business revenue through full season, partial season, and group tickets.
- Proactively identify new business opportunities through networking, prospecting outbound leads and other inbound opportunities
- Develop sales collateral and coordinate marketing materials for new outbound business opportunities
- Assist with the coordination and execution on new business sales meetings
- Monitor all inbound sales e-mail inboxes and assist in the distribution of inbound leads to sales representatives
- Manage inventory system for inbound/outbound prospecting tickets
- Establish presence at all New York City FC home games and local events for the purpose of developing new prospects, servicing existing customer base, and generating referrals.
- Build strong relationships with account base through proactive communication including seat visits, touch points, phone calls, emails and other communication channels.
- Assist with the execution of matchday fan experiences
- Provide support to sales leadership with the creation of presentations for staff and executive leadership
- Outbound sales responsibilities, as assigned
- Other administrative duties as determined and assigned
WHO YOU ARE:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 6 months – 1 years of business development experience. Experience in the sports industry is a plus
- Soccer knowledge is preferred, but not required
- Strong organizational, time management along with excellent verbal and written communications skill
- Motivated self-starter with entrepreneurial drive
- Experience in the New York marketplace preferred
- Comfortability with outbound cold-calls and fielding inbound calls
- Excellent knowledge of PC systems including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and database-related platforms
- Working knowledge of generally accepted standards of customer service and problem resolution
COMPENSATION:
This non-exempt position has an estimated annual base salary range of $40,000-45,000 and is overtime eligible. Final compensation offer amounts are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors such as certifications and software expertise. We welcome direct conversations with each candidate about compensation in all of our initial calls.
