Human Resources Division (HRD) is responsible for the handling all NYPD employee personnel information including but not limited to civil service status, payroll and benefits. Specifically, the Managerial Time and Leave Unit which assist managerial employees in obtaining policy information relating to City policies in regard to managerial time usage.

The Personnel Bureau, Payroll and Benefits Section seeks a Deputy Director for the Managerial Time and Leave Unit that would be responsible for the effective and efficient processing of Managerial time and leave. Duties include:

Minimum Qualifications
above, 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial,
executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the
supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than
moderate difficulty; or
the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative
experience (but not for the administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory
experience described in "1", "2" or "3" above) at a rate of 30 semester credits
from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3½
years.
Preferred Skills
Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel. PowerPoint). Detail oriented, highly organized. motivated, and self-directed professional. Ability to work independently when given specific instructions. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills. Possess strong analytical, organizational, verbal and writing skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence. Maintain an enthusiastic work ethic, in addition to being able to work well with others in a diverse team environment.
Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. - Responsible for supervising and assigning staff with day-to-day transactions pertaining to managerial lump sum payments and leave audits
- Present and handle any managerial new hire orientations
- Supervise day-to-day functions and overall planning of the Managerial Time and Leave operations
- Responsible for providing staff and all NYPD MOS answers to complex inquiries relating to time usage
- Adheres to NYPD, DCAS, City Policy and Procedures

Minimum Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience requiring independent decision-making concerning program management or planning, allocation for resources and the scheduling and assignment of work, 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
- An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and five years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible experience as described in "1" above, 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of
above, 18 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial,
executive or supervisory capacity. The supervisory work must have been in the
supervision of staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than
moderate difficulty; or
- Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2" or "3" above. However, all
