Available Positions:
We are seeking dedicated specialists for the following areas:
- Performing Arts Specialist (Theater, Music, Media Arts, etc.)
- Dance Specialist (Various Dance Styles, Choreography, Instruction)
- Leadership Specialist (Youth Development, Peer Engagement, Leadership Training)
- STEM Specialist (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
What You Will Do:
- Build strong relationships with and among students.
- Teach or co-lead daily activities with clear objectives for lessons and projects.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
- Guide students in exploring different artistic, STEM, or leadership techniques while fostering creativity and critical thinking.
- Support the coordination of program events.
- Input data and prepare reports.
- Administer pre and post-assessments and evaluations for student activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- College credits and/or degrees are highly preferred.
- Must have relevant experience in the chosen specialty area.
- Experience working with children is strongly preferred.
- Ability to climb stairs, lift children, and monitor events.
- This role requires in-person attendance.
Schedule:
- Part-Time Seasonal (July 2nd – August 15th)
- Weekly Scheduled Hours: 15-29 hours per week (No Summer Camp on July 4)
- Shift: Monday-Friday, 1 PM - 6 PM
- Grade Levels Served: K-5
Pay:
- $20-25/hour (based on experience and credentials)
Training & Professional Development:
At New York Edge, we are committed to delivering exceptional professional development for our staff. All summer activity specialists are required to complete a mandatory 3-hour curriculum and instruction training before the start of summer camp. This training will be offered on June 23rd, 24th, or 25th (dates subject to change).
