JOB SUMMARY :

As a Senior Chemist Scientist in Color Cosmetics, you will use your knowledge in the development of products to independently lead projects that create new products, patents, raw materials. Analyze information from experiments, trials, and laboratory-based research to meet project goals and decide next steps. Expand your knowledge base by taking on stretch projects that would further drive your skill set.

JOB DUTIES :

Lead major research and development projects which aim to find a solution to industry problems, such as high-end anti-aging, sensitive skin, sun protection factor (spf) and other complex products.
Design, develop and collaborate with global team to create new raw materials using industry standards to achieve project goals and objectives.
Independently taking actions on projects using logic, expertise in the field, and the use of resources to further project success and ensure timelines are met.
Develop a deep understanding and know how to proficiently create patents.
Lead interdisciplinary teams, integrating resources from all parties, to break through key technical bottlenecks, and develop disruptive innovative products.
Participate in the development of industry standards, academic exchange activities, publish high-level scientific research papers, and enhance the technical image and popularity of the company's brand in the industry.
Serve as a mentor to other scientists.
Supervise research and / or scientific staff, as appropriate for scope of responsibilities.
Must stay current and at the forefront of the industry to see the future development trend.
Other duties as assigned by VP of R &D / Laboratory Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

Masters degree, with 3-5 years' experience in cosmetic research and development experience or a Bachelors degree with 8 years' experience.

Innovative, self-motivated and the ability to work independently.

Ability to problem solve and make key decisions based on logic and research.

Deep academic and professional knowledge in the cosmetics field.

Has knowledge of the product manufacturing process and experience in collaborating with third parties on research.

Effective communication skills to build external partnerships with academic and industry experts.

Deep understanding of intellectual property protection and can provide insight to the team on patent layout and technical achievement protection.

Ability to travel on extended business trips.

Mandarin is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND REQUIREMENTS :

Ability to tolerate sustained standing / walking for up to 8 hours.

Capability to carry, twist, push, pull products, and lift up to 30 lbs.

Good eye-hand coordination.
