In this role, you will:
- Follow all New York Imaging policies and procedures.
- Update and maintain all electronic patient records
- Record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Assist in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
- Start and Maintain IV’s for Radiology procedures including but not limited to CT scans and PET/CT scans.
- Record patient interview, history, and chief complaint
- Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests
- Assist physician with exams
- Perform phlebotomy and collect other lab specimens
- Perform basic lab tests
- Administer and document medication under a physician’s order and follow the five (5)medication rights to reduce the potential for medical error.
- Valid New York State LPN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
- Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Reliable transportation to travel to NYI locations for patient care needs
