In this role you will:
- Create individualized care plans on patient under their supervision and care.
- Recognize and treat cancer-related issues.
- Monitor and chart vital signs, weight and height.
- Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
- Conduct cancer research to enhance treatment protocols assigned to cancer patients.
- Provide supportive resources on the patient and the families to promote positive outlook.
- Teach patients and the families regarding treatment expectations.
- Watch and record the patient’s progress on a constant basis.
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
- Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
- Provide the patient with discharge instructions that are specific to the patient as well as emergency numbers after care.
- Evaluates patient responses to interventions in order to determine progress toward achieving expected outcomes.
- Valid RN License in the State of New York.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing a plus.
- 2 years minimum experience as an RN.
- 2 years working as a procedural nurse in Interventional Radiology or Cardiac Cath Lab helpful.
- 2 years of critical care experience helpful.
- Excellent assessment, communication and organizational skills.
- Good computer knowledge.
- Infection Control Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
