Job Title: Academic Support Specialist - Educational Counseling
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
This role involves providing academic support and educational counseling to students who are advanced program participants. The successful candidate will work with relevant others in the recruitment process for these students and track their academic progress.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual educational counseling to students addressing areas such as test-taking strategies, time-management, reading comprehension strategies, note-taking techniques, and study skills
- Develop and deliver workshops for students on topics like test-taking strategies, time-management, reading comprehension strategies, note-taking techniques, and study skills
- Assist with additional duties as assigned by the university
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related discipline; plus, 1-3 years directly applicable or 3-5 years related experience in education, communications or counseling; Masters Degree in Education or a related field preferred
- Required Field of Expertise: Education or related field
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge in learning concepts, educational theory, and psycho-educational assessments
- Strong interpersonal, administrative/organizational, and computer skills
- Aptitude for educational technology
