Responsibilities :
- Serve as Career Advisor for medical students according to COCA standards.
- Author each students Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE), that encompasses 3.5 years of a student's performance, extracurricular activities, leadership and clinical experiences.
- Develop and implement a career development curriculum, including workshops, group based learning and online activities for first- and second-year medical students
- Develop and deliver training sessions for students on the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS), including ranking, interview preparation and any other needs.
- Meet individually with students to review, advise and complete curriculum vitae, personal statements and other career development tools.
- Design instructional materials and conduct workshops using the Careers in Medicine web-based tool for medical career exploration
- Develop and provide career development and residency training modules for third- and fourth-year medical students. Work in collaboration with the department of clinical education to assess and monitor opportunities throughout their clinical rotations.
- Create and execute learning activities in- and out-side the classroom to expose student doctors to medical practice in various specialty areas, including workshops with visiting physicians on-site as well as training and shadowing experiences off-site.
- Design and conduct student courses on career development topics such as curriculum vitae, personal statements, interviewing, etc.
- Implement and staff on-campus admission interview days, prospective student preview days and conferences, and pre-professional advisor conferences and training.
