With The Rye Commitment as our guiding ethos, we seek to engage all students and staff in a positive, supportive learning environment where students can own their own learning and continuously grow academically, socially, and emotionally.Responsibilities : Proven ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and partner with students & parents in the learning process.Consult with teachers as they plan instruction to ensure the incorporation of appropriate library, media, and technology into daily instruction in order to build information literacy skills.Experience designing student-centered lessons and engaging curricula that individually challenge students and inspire them to grow.Ability to serve as an instructional coach for a wide range of educators with varied teaching styles, experience levels, and subject areas.Serve as the building expert in research methodology, proper citation, and modern / innovative academic research strategies.Thoughtful, reflective practitioner that is culturally responsive in their pedagogical approach with a proven commitment to the principles of equity and inclusion.Highly skilled in differentiating instruction to personalize learning to meet the diverse needs of all students, can effectively model instruction for adult learners.Demonstrated understanding of authentic assessment, data-driven instruction, and methods for gathering and evaluating evidence of deeper learning.Evaluate, acquire, and promote resources to meet the learning needs of all students.Manage the daily operations / functions of a 21st century “learning commons” including maintaining a welcoming learning environment with flexible seating and innovative learning spaces.Manage data systems for ordering, circulation, and the management of instructional resources.Certification : NY State Library Media Specialist Certification RequiredThis position includes a highly competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and extensive opportunities for professional learning, continued growth, and mentored support.The Rye City School District is an equal opportunity employer.
