As an Insurance Agent with New York Life, you will help clients achieve their financial goals, while building a great career for yourself in the process. Utilizing our expansive product lines, our Agents work to guide individuals, families, and businesses towards the financial strategy that is right for them. That is no easy task, but for the right person it can be a truly rewarding career. We have confidence in our products but more importantly, we have confidence in our Agents to thoughtfully recommend and implement which financial vehicle is right for every client they support. Just as our Managers in the field work to provide one-on-one support and guidance to every Agent they hire.

The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who enjoys building customer relationships and who knows how to initiate and follow through with sales opportunities. Initial duties would include working alongside other Associate Partner servicing clients, making active outbound calls to set appointments, answering phones, client account maintenance and client relationship making.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Handle inside sales for individuals and institutional (business) customers who need help getting coverage or managing their policy by understanding the requirements of the customer and customize financial plans to fit the need of each individual and family
  • Explain different options to prospective clients and encourage the sale of financial products and policies that best suits their needs.
  • Convert leads to sales by rapidly responding and catering to customers who have requested a quote.
  • Adapt to new and ever-changing technology as we build our processes and workflows.
  • Serve as a relationship manager to establish customer relationships and follow up with customers, as needed.
  • Use a client-focused, needs-based review process to educate customers about insurance options.
  • Maintain a strong work ethic with a total commitment to success each and every day

Areas of Financial Offers to clients: insurance/annuity/retirement planning/education fund/Investment products/tax credit plan/asset protection, estate planning etc.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Finance field but not limited to
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, the ability to go after sales and be competitive while still putting the client’s interest at first
  • Ability to analyze client’s requirements and think critically to find the best solutions for their customized needs.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • General and technical knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus!
  • A team player who is punctual and possesses a strong work ethic, also with a desire to help others
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Responsible, trust worthy, with the ability to problem solve independently.
  • Bi-lingual in Chinese Mandarin is a Must
  • Sales experience preferred entrepreneurial mindset, Strong business acumen
  • Perseverance in the face of a challenge
  • Ability to engage your community and leverage personal networks/contacts

Compensation:

On average, first year agents can make $65,000 with no limit subject to one’s performance.

Provide high quality free training, remunerative, domestic and foreign vacation learning opportunities.

May be eligible for stipend and training allowance in addition to commission based.
