The NY Philharmonic seeks a Development Associate to be a member of the Development Operations team. This position supports the Development Department through gift processing, database maintenance, and general office administration. This role is a hybrid position.
Responsibilities Include
Minimum one-year relevant experience, preferably in a cultural institution. Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail. Familiarity with donor databases and data entry. Strong written and verbal skills. Ability to produce deadlines and work independently and effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM databases (preferably Tessitura, Raiser’s Edge, or Salesforce).

Responsibilities Include
- Implement appropriate, timely, and accurate daily gifts processing and maintain associated memberships, constituency codes, and donor listing preferences.
- Manage recurring gifts recording and credit card transactions.
- Identify and keep track of matching gifts and pledge management, and keep the department informed of outstanding balances.
- Generate tax receipts and pledge bills for several teams within the department.
- Perform ongoing data updates in Tessitura (CRM) to ensure departmental data hygiene (e.g., addresses, phone numbers, relationships).
- Generate and regularly update donor listings in Playbill and the Annual Report.
- Create and maintain relevant procedure documents.
- Sort, organize, and maintain gift files and archiving process.
- Help maintain department’s stationery and office supplies.
- Provide administrative support.
- Participate in Development events and projects, as needed (e.g. staff the Galas).
- Participate in Patron Lounge duty during the concert season to assist with guest tracking and ensure positive guest experience.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned, which may include occasional night and weekend work.
