Gustavo Dudamel will become the Philharmonic’s Oscar L. Tang and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Music and Artistic Director in the 2026–27 season.
The New York Philharmonic seeks a Marketing Copywriter. This role will report directly to the Director of Brand Marketing and be responsible for writing, proofreading, and editing copy across all marketing channels while ensuring use of a consistent brand voice. The Marketing Copywriter will become well-versed in the programming of each season through independent research and learnings from internal resources. Through close collaboration with teammates, this role will bring creativity to branding projects, contribute to content strategy, and be a trusted source for the grammatical and factual accuracy of written content.

Responsibilities
- Write copy and collaborate closely with in-house Design Services team and third-party creators on content layout for all marketing materials, including (but not limited to):
- Direct mail promoting subscription and single ticket sales
- Website
- Select email
- Full-spectrum advertising media (e.g. print, outdoor, digital, direct response, email, and broadcast)
- Promotional collateral
- Front-of-house signage
- Cross-promotional materials distributed by partner organizations
- Owned video content scripts
- Social media content and caption copy as needed
- Miscellaneous institutional materials
- Refine, monitor, and enforce use of institutional “brand voice” in all marketing materials
- Write creative briefs for marketing projects produced in- and out-of-house
- With oversight from Director of Brand Marketing, the copywriter will be the marketing content liaison for website copy and select visuals
- Write title tags and meta descriptions for website to optimize SEO
- Research and propose keywords to optimize SEM campaigns
- Proofread and copyedit all marketing materials for accuracy and integrity of house copy style
- Work closely with the Publications team to ensure adherence to house copy style across marketing channels
- Copyedit and write supplemental copy for print and digital materials serving NY Phil departments outside of Marketing, such as Education and Community Programs
- Support the Directors of Brand and Growth Marketing in developing campaign strategies to support sales and branding goals
- Support and collaborate with Email Marketing Coordinator as needed with copywriting, copyediting, and content strategy
- A commitment to contributing to an inclusive working environment is required.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Strong experience writing marketing, sales, and or ad copy, preferably for cultural institutions
- Demonstrated ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven adeptness to manage projects from start to finish independently and with limited oversight
- Knowledge of classical music, or eagerness to learn and capacity for independent research
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word
- Ability and willingness to learn technical systems and in-house tools quickly
- Candidate must be a self-starter and a team player; deadline driven, highly organized, and attentive to detail; with a strong growth mindset and a passion for the arts, marketing, ticket sales, and branding
- College degree or equivalent work experience

Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
