Job Description
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Executive Director of Finance is primarily responsible for all aspects of financial services and corporate reporting of the health system, including accounting, financial reporting, cash forecasting, treasury management, accounts payable, payroll, internal and external audits, tax filings, tax-exempt bond compliance, pension oversight, financial management of subsidiary companies and financial projects. This position is the number two in Finance and oversees the activities of the Department Heads of Accounting and Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable and Payroll and a Financial Coordinator who serves as Banking Systems Administrator. The Executive Director of Finance regularly reports on monthly financial results and presents those results to Hospital leadership and physicians. As directed by the VP of Finance, the Executive Director of Finance works on various Health System projects and serves on the Finance, Audit and Pension subcommittees of the Board of Directors. The Executive Director of Finance represents the Hospital as a Member of the Board of Directors for both Stamford Emergency Management Services (SEMS) and the Wilton Surgical Center, an affiliate. Additionally, the Executive Director of Finance works to strengthen financial performance and reduce organizational risk by serving on the Health System’s cross functional Materials Management OR Surgical Committee and Enterprise Risk Management Committee.
