Job Description
Stamford Hospital's Department of Orthopedic Surgery is seeking a full-time physician assistant to add to their growing team! The Orthopedic Trauma team is comprised of approximately 13 full time PAs and the program provides 24/7/365 coverage.
Orthopedic Trauma Physician Assistants provide care to patients in the Emergency Department, the OR, and the Inpatient Units including total joint arthroplasty, sports medicine, hand, spine, foot & ankle, pediatric, and orthopedic trauma patients. Responsibilities include admission H&Ps, Consultations, Rounding, discharging, and first/second assisting in the OR. The Orthopedic Trauma PAs perform bedside procedures including independent reductions, splinting, casting, arthrocentesis, nailbed repair, etc.
Schedule: Rotating days/nights/weekends. Either three 13hr shifts per week, 6a-7:30p or 6p-7:30a OR the option to cover a 24hr shift (6a-6a) alternating with a 14hr shift (6-8:30)
Requirements:
1) CT Physician Assistant License required upon hire
2) A minimum of 2 years of orthopedic surgery and/or orthopedic trauma strongly preferred. Schedule offered may vary depending on years of experience. New grads on set schedule including Saturday. All new hires start on Four 10hr shift training schedule.
3) BLS certification required
4) ACLS certification required
