The Surgical Navigator functions as an integral part of the patient’s surgical journey. The Navigator is a conscientious, detail focused, and organized person who schedules all surgical cases, obtains prior authorization when required, maintains communication with OR scheduling staff, patients, and providers.
The Navigator is responsible for orchestrating the functions of the interdisciplinary team of providers to best serve the surgical patient, their family and care partners that will ensure optimal outcomes.
