Position: Constituent Affairs Liaison

Job Summary:
The Constituent Affairs Liaison serves as a direct link between Assemblymember Brian Cunningham’s office and the residents of the 43rd District. This role is responsible for addressing constituent concerns, connecting residents with government services, and ensuring the office remains responsive to the needs of the community. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to public service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Casework & Constituent Support:
• Assist constituents with issues related to city, state, and federal agencies (e.g., housing, social services, unemployment, immigration, etc.).
• Track, manage, and follow up on constituent cases to ensure timely resolutions.
• Maintain a casework database and provide regular reports on trends and outcomes.
• Community Engagement:
• Represent the Assemblymember at community meetings, tenant association gatherings, and public forums.
• Develop relationships with local organizations and service providers to better assist constituents.
• Help coordinate and participate in community outreach initiatives, including office-sponsored events, mobile office hours, and resource fairs.
• Office & Administrative Support:
• Answer calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries from constituents with professionalism and empathy.
• Draft correspondence, reports, and informational materials related to constituent services.
• Maintain updated records of community resources, government contacts, and referral organizations.
• Policy & Legislative Support:
• Identify emerging constituent concerns that may require legislative action or advocacy.
• Work with the policy team to provide insights and recommendations based on constituent feedback.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Strong commitment to serving the residents of Central Brooklyn.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Experience in casework, social services, government, or community organizing is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and database management.
• Bilingual skills (especially in Haitian Creole or Spanish) are a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
