Duties Description
On an assigned shift, the Cook bears the responsibility for the direct supervision of incarcerated individual staff while under the direct supervision of a Head Cook. Maintains a high standard of daily sanitation of food service area and equipment while teaching proper use and care of equipment. Ensures the proper preparation, storage and service of food supplies in the food service area. Confirms supplies are on hand for the next days workload and reports discrepancies to the Head Cook. Cook completes appropriate paperwork, assists Head Cook with items that may need repair or replacement. Has oral and written communication with staff and peers explaining food preparation and service procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have three years of experience in large-scale cooking, one year of which must have included regular supervision of subordinate employees or working incarcerated individuals.
