Overview
NYS DOCCS Office of Special Investigations (OSI) is seeking qualified candidates to serve as an Investigative Analyst within the Intake, Training and Analysis Division. The OSI Analysis Unit specializes in tactical intelligence analysis to support and advance OSI’s criminal and administrative investigations. The Analysis Unit further performs statistical and trends analysis regarding violence or misconduct within correctional facilities to identify trends and organization risk on a statewide, regional, and per-facility basis.
Requirements:
- Appropriate licensure and certifications, including being or becoming a peace officer qualified to carry a firearm.
- Basis proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to pass an OSI background check.
- Ability to be on-call, travel for trainings, and deploy across the state to meet the Office’s operational needs.
Qualifications
- Two years of investigative / analytical experience; however, a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, crime analysis, intelligence analysis, homeland security or a closely related field can serve as a substitute. An associate degree in the aforementioned concentrations can serve as a substitute for one year of experience.
- Demonstrative evidence of integrity, ethical behavior, and the ability to conduct, fair, thorough, and impartial investigations.
- Preference for candidates that can demonstrate a proficiency in statistical analysis, intelligence analysis, writing, and public speaking.
