1. Regulation of municipal, industrial, private/commercial/institutional wastewater collection and treatment facilities, involving the following tasks:
- Review of facility operational data, monitoring reports,compliance documents, etc. to ensure permit compliance and adherence to agency rules and regulations;
- Review of SPDES permit applications, fact sheets, and facility permits, and development/drafting of SPDES permits;
- Performance of facility compliance inspections and documentation of findings;
- Performance of engineering reviews of proposals, reports, plans and specifications for SPDES permitted facilities.
2. Oversight of large farm (concentrated animal feeding operations) facilities throughout the region, tasks include:
- Conducting compliance inspections and documenting findings;
- Performing response to and inspections of complaints related to agricultural operations.
3. Conduct routine inspections as well as response to complaints at both construction sites and industrial facilities to determine compliance with applicable general permits for stormwater discharges from construction and industrial activities.
4. Conduct sampling as needed for the Rotating Integrated Basin Strategy (RIBS) program.
5. Conduct and/or assist in response, including investigations and enforcement as necessary, of water quality related complaints from the public or other sources.
